Donor Spotlight: MassMutual
Pam Mathison, Community Relations Specialist
Pam Mathison, mom of two boys (3 and 10 months), understands the importance of tradition. One of the family favorites is Bright Nights. Now a Spirit of Springfield Board Member, Pam has been a Bright Nights enthusiast since it began 15 years ago.
Pam’s spirit for Springfield is evident in everything she does. A member of numerous boards and committees, including the Mentor Springfield Advisory Committee, Pam knows that “when Springfield is successful, the region is successful.” The key to that success, Pam believes, is quality education for all of Springfield’s citizens. In her role at MassMutual, Pam’s passion for education helps her do her job well. She is the liaison for the Academic Achievement Program that rewards Springfield high school students who meet grade eligibility requirements with college scholarships and a variety of educational and employment preparation opportunities.
MassMutual Financial Group supports education, economic development and community vitality, with gifts totaling almost $7 million in their Springfield/Enfield home community. BBBSHC is tremendously grateful MassMutual’s recent community investments included a $20,000 grant to launch Mentor Springfield.
